Frequently Asked Questions

Parent Questions We Often Hear

Do I have to have my child registered for them to come to AAU practice?  Yes, you must go on-line and register your wrestler.  This gives them the insurance coverage needed at practice.

Can my child just come and watch practice?  While you can have them watch, we encourage signing them up and bringing them to practice.  Sitting on the sidelines can be more scary and intimidating for some children.  Getting involved right away is good.  Wrestling is for fun! We want all wrestlers to have a good learning experience.

What forms do I need to bring to practice?  Please bring a copy of their birth certificate, the open gym liability release form and the parent sign-off that you read the concussion sheet.

Where can I get wrestling shoes, headgear, and singlets?  Our club has new and used singlets, shoes, and headgear for sale at practice. You may also purchase on-line or at a local store.

What days are practice?  AAU practice is generally on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings.  Please see the calendar or our weekly Mat Talk newsletter for changes.

Do I have to go to all of the tournaments?  No, you many attend as many tournaments as you like.  Our schedule is published on the calendar.

How do I get a coaches card?  Please see our registration secretary at practice for information on how to apply for a coaches card.
